Join our Day Case and Surgical Admissions Lounge team as a Band 6 Nurse, delivering high-quality care throughout the surgical pathway. You will provide expert clinical care, ensuring the safeadmission,assessmentanddischargeofsurgicalpatients.Usingyourclinicaljudgement,youwillidentifyandmanagerisks,supportpatientswithcomplexneedsandworkcollaborativelywithmultidisciplinaryteamstodeliversafe,effectiveandpatient-centredcare.
As a senior member of the team, you will provide clinical leadership, coordinate patient flow, support efficienttheatreutilisationandrespondtochangingservicedemands.YouwillsuperviseandsupportBand5nurses,ClinicalSupportWorkersandstudents,whilecontributingtoserviceimprovementsandensuringaseamlesspatientexperiencefromadmissiontodischarge.

As a Band 6 Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care within a busy surgical environment. Working autonomously within agreed protocols, you will undertake clinicalassessments,identifyandmanagerisks,andprovideexpertcareforpatientswithcomplexneeds.Usingsoundclinicaljudgement,youwillworkcloselywithsurgicalandanaestheticteamstoescalateconcernsandensurepatientsreceivetimely,appropriatecare.
You will support effective patient flow across theDayCaseandSurgicalAdmissionsLounge,helpingtominimisedelays,reducecancellationsandmaximisetheatreutilisation.Thisvariedrolerequiresexcellentorganisationalskillsandtheabilitytorespondtochangingprioritiesinafast-pacedsetting.
As a senior member of theteam,youwillprovideclinicalleadership,coordinatepatientactivityandsupportthesafemanagementofworkload.Youwillactasarolemodel,supportinganddevelopingBand5nurses,ClinicalSupportWorkersandstudentstomaintainhighstandardsofcare.
Working collaboratively with theatre teams, bed management and surgical specialties,youwillhelpdeliverefficientpatientpathwaysfromadmissiontodischarge.Youwillalsocontributetoservicedevelopment,qualityimprovementandthedeliveryofinnovativepracticesthatenhancepatientexperienceandoutcomes.
