We are seeking an experienced Health Safety and Environmental Manager to lead health, safety, environmental and facilities management activities within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
The successful HSE Manager will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with UK HSE legislation, maintaining environmental standards, and managing site facilities to provide a safe, compliant and efficient workplace.
Main Duties: HSE Manager
• Lead and continuously improve Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) systems and standards.
• Ensure compliance with UK health, safety and environmental legislation and relevant ISO management systems.
• Develop and oversee risk assessments, COSHH, Permit to Work, Management of Change and contractor management processes.
• Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Manage environmental compliance activities, including waste, emissions, water treatment and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate external audits, inspections and regulatory visits.
• Monitor and report HSE performance metrics to senior leadership.
• Manage site facilities, infrastructure and building services to ensure statutory compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Oversee facilities contractors, service providers and site improvement projects.
• Drive energy, sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following HSE Manager
• NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• A background in an HSE leadership role within a manufacturing, engineering, chemical or similar high-risk environment.
• Knowledge of UK Health & Safety and Environmental legislation, including risk assessment, COSHH, contractor management and incident investigation.
• Excellent communication skills with a coaching leadership style.
• The ability to build and maintain business relationships with ease.
