Summary
The post holder will provide clinical, operational, and professional leadership for the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP), ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, safe, and effective service that meets national screening standards and quality assurance requirements. Working closely with the BCSP Programme Manager, Clinical Leads, Endoscopy teams, and multidisciplinary colleagues, the post holder will oversee the screening patient pathway, support service performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will lead and develop the BCSP workforce, ensuring patients receive excellent care and support throughout their screening journey. They will be responsible for monitoring quality indicators, managing service performance, supporting workforce planning, and contributing to the strategic development of the programme. The role requires strong leadership, effective communication skills, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes through the early detection and prevention of bowel cancer. This is a key leadership position within the Digestive Diseases Clinical Service Unit, providing assurance that the service continues to deliver safe, patient-centred care while achieving national performance and quality standards.
