Job DescriptionHays Education are working with a mainstream school based in Allerton who are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join them on a full-time basis.The role will involve:
- Deliver high-quality learning activities to individuals, groups, and whole classes in the absence of the teacher
- Provide targeted support to pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)
- Support pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement targets from EHCPs, IEPs, and support plans
- Plan, prepare, and adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs
- Assess, record, and report on pupils' progress and attainment
- Support communication, language development, and social interaction
- Promote emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and positive behaviour strategies
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
Previous Experience Required
- HLTA qualification or equivalent relevant experience
- Previous experience leading learning activities within a classroom environment
- Experience working with children with SEN in mainstream or specialist settings
