Summary
We are fully committed to being an inclusive employer and ensuring equal opportunities for everyone. We welcome flexible working patterns for all our vacancies, including job share.
We’re recruiting for an enthusiastic, experienced and skilled person to join us as a digital engagement adviser. If you’re committed to building and engaging audiences, using insight to craft compelling content, then this could be the right opportunity for you.
As a Digital Engagement Advisor, you will have oversight of our external Engagement Hub digital engagement pages. Working to support and advise on key organisational priorities including our work with water companies, waste crime, and hot topic items like chemical contamination, we will look to you to help us engage key audiences through great digital content. You will work closely with External Affairs portfolio leads and senior colleagues within the Environment Agency to ensure that our external digital channels tell our story in an engaging, accurate, and timely way.
This role will sit within the Environment and Business (E&B) Directorate. The E&B Directorate supports the Environment Agency’s vision by creating and developing better ways to deliver environmental outcomes and improvements. Using evidence and innovation, our expert teams secure resources, influence policy and legislation, and enhance and support delivery of a better environment.
The ability to work under pressure, be highly organised, and handle competing demands, whilst delivering first-class communications and engagement products will be essential.
We’re a dispersed team and work with a wide range of teams across the country. The successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative while maintaining effective communication with the team and customers.
The team
The E&B External Affairs team is responsible for advising and influencing our directorate on building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and organisations; strengthening our voice and influence so that our work is better known, trusted, and has greater impact.
This is for one Digital Engagement Advisor Fixed Term post until the end of March 2027.
