Summary

What's involved with this role:

Triumph Consultants are looking for a Revenues Officer for their client to collect Council Tax and Business Rates income while providing excellent customer service. Contract is for 11-12 months in Newbury, Berkshire RG14 5LD.

Revenues Officer

Pay Rate:£30.00 per hour PAYE

Hours per week: 37 Monday - Friday

Contract length: 2 months months

Location: Newbury, Berkshire RG14 5LD

Key Requirements

Experience in Local Authority revenues, debt recovery or a similar finance or collections role.

Knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates and debt recovery legislation (or willingness to learn).

Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to deal with customers professionally and compassionately.

Experience using Microsoft Office and revenue systems such as NEC Northgate (desirable).

IRRV Technician qualification or equivalent is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Council Tax and Business Rates accounts, issuing bills, processing discounts, exemptions and reliefs, and ensuring records are accurate.

Recover outstanding debts by reviewing accounts, agreeing payment arrangements and progressing enforcement action where appropriate.

Support customers by providing advice, resolving queries and signposting vulnerable residents to available support.

Work with internal teams and external agencies, including Enforcement Agents, DWP and Housing Associations, to maximise income collection.
