We wish to appoint a Locum Consultant Cardiologist to join our pacing and heart failure services across two sites at The James Paget University Hospital and The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. The post is to provide cover for a colleague taking a career break and will be for 6 months minimum in the first instance.
This is a very exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced colleague to join the UKs largest bradycardia pacing service, delivering over 1000 procedures per year.They will also be expected to take part in the management of general cardiology patients. The job plan is for 10 Pas, but additional Pas may be available for cross cover.
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) serves a population of approximately 850,000 and the James Paget Hospital (JPUH) has a catchment population of about 300,000
NNUH is a large multidisciplinary teaching hospital with the full range of medical, surgical, obstetric and diagnostic services. JPUH is a medium size district general hospital with an active cardiology department which also has access to echocardiography, TOE, CTCA, Stress Echo and CMR. There is no general medical commitment on either site. Out of hours on-call is only undertaken at NNUH.
This is a 10 PA post, but a candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties as described will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed, the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.
