This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of our before and after-school provision, creating a safe, welcoming and engaging environment where children can learn, play and flourish.Working as part of our Wraparound Care team, you will help provide high-quality childcare that reflects the values and ethos of our school, ensuring children feel happy, supported and valued throughout their time in our care.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will:Create a fun, safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where every child feels welcome.Build positive, supportive relationships with all pupils, encouraging confidence, independence and positive behaviour.Plan, prepare and lead engaging activities that promote children's social, emotional, creative and physical development.Supervise children during wraparound sessions, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and enjoyment always.Support the individual needs of children, promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.Prepare and supervise snacks in line with food hygiene and allergy procedures.Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, carers and colleagues.Work collaboratively with the wider school team to ensure continuity of care and support.Observe and report safeguarding or welfare concerns in accordance with school procedures.Contribute ideas to continually develop and improve the wraparound provision.We Are Looking For Someone WhoIs passionate about supporting children to thrive.Demonstrates kindness, patience and empathy.Builds positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Can work independently and as part of a team.Is organised, reliable and flexible.Shares our commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and equality.Is committed to upholding the values and ethos of Desford Community Primary School.Essential Skills, Qualifications and ExperienceApplicants should ideally have:Experience of working with primary-aged children in a school, childcare or similar setting.Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, in English and Mathematics).An understanding of child development and positive behaviour management.Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities (training can be provided).The ability to communicate confidently with children, parents and colleagues.A calm, caring and positive approach to supporting children.Relevant childcare qualifications or paediatric first aid training would be advantageous but are not essential.What We Can OfferIn return, we offer:A welcoming and supportive team committed to working collaboratively.Friendly, enthusiastic and well-behaved children.Opportunities for professional development and training.A positive and inclusive working environment where staff wellbeing is valued.The opportunity to make a genuine difference to children's lives every day.A school community where kindness, respect and aspiration are at the heart of everything we do.SafeguardingDesford Community Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
