Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve high-quality, nutritious meals in accordance with agreed menus and residents' dietary requirements.
Plan and maintain varied menu cycles that offer choice while working within agreed budgets.
Order food supplies and manage stock levels efficiently to minimise waste.
Ensure the kitchen operates in compliance with food hygiene legislation and Health & Safety regulations.
Supervise and support kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation and service.
Cater for special dietary, cultural, and medical requirements.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and food preparation areas.
Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure meals are consistently delivered to a high standard.
Work closely with the Home Manager and care team to meet residents' nutritional needs.
Report any catering-related concerns or maintenance issues promptly.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Chef, Cook, or Head Chef.
Experience working within a care home or healthcare setting is preferred.
Good knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP, and health & safety regulations.
Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above).
Ability to plan menus and manage catering budgets.
Experience catering for specialist dietary requirements.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
Right to work in the UK.
