Summary
We are looking for an experienced, caring and dependable Senior Care Assistant to join our residential care team on night duty.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care throughout the night. You will be expected to take responsibility for senior care duties, including medication administration and supporting the effective implementation and review of residents’ care plans.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents throughout the night.
• Administer and record medication safely in accordance with the home’s medication policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate medication records and report any medication concerns or errors promptly.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and regular review of individual care plans and risk assessments.
• Ensure care records and other documentation are accurate, clear and up to date.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond appropriately to any changes in their physical, emotional or behavioural needs.
• Support residents with personal care while maintaining their dignity, privacy, independence and individual choices.
• Provide clear and accurate handovers to colleagues at the end of each shift.
• Support and guide care staff on duty and help ensure tasks are completed to the required standard.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, falls or safeguarding concerns and follow the home’s reporting procedures.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable and secure environment throughout the night.
• Work in accordance with the home’s policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements.
