Summary

Are you an experienced and compassionate midwife with a passion for providing high-quality community-based maternity care? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated midwife to lead our Community Midwifery Team, supporting the delivery of safe, personalised and effective care for women and families throughout their pregnancy journey.

As a Lead Community Midwife, you will provide visible clinical and operational leadership across community maternity services, supporting the delivery of national and local maternity priorities while promoting continuity, safety and positive outcomes for women and babies. You will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to drive service improvement, maintain high standards of care and ensure an excellent patient experience.

We are looking for an inspiring and forward-thinking leader who is committed to developing others and fostering a positive team culture. The successful candidate will be an experienced practitioner with advanced clinical skills, a strong understanding of community maternity services, and the ability to support and develop staff while maintaining a focus on quality, governance and service excellence. • • Providing visible leadership and day-to-day management of community midwifery services, ensuring high standards of care, safety and patient experience.

• Supporting the implementation of national maternity policy, trust objectives and quality improvement initiatives.

• Leading on workforce management, including staff supervision, roster management, sickness absence management, recruitment, retention and staff wellbeing.

• Ensuring compliance with clinical governance requirements, audits, risk management processes and incident investigations, embedding learning into practice.

• Supporting and developing midwifery staff through clinical supervision, appraisal, education and mentorship.

• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, partner organisations and service users to improve maternity care pathways and outcomes.

• Monitoring service performance and activity, taking action to address challenges and drive continuous service improvement.

• Acting as a clinical role model and expert practitioner, providing support and guidance for complex clinical situations and escalations.

• Supporting the delivery of continuity of care and equitable access to services for women, birthing people and their families.

• Contributing to the strategic development of community maternity services and deputising for the Maternity outpatient matron when required.

The Trust was formed on 1st August 2010 through the integration of Croydon Community Health Services and Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust.
