Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, dynamic, and highly motivated Nurse to join the Liverpool ED Research Unit Strategy (LEDRUS) Portfolio.

If you currently work as a nurse within the Royal A+E department, there is a possibility of job sharing. Therefore, you could remain in your clinical job part time. 

 As a Band 6 Research Nurse, you will work as part of an established, supportive multidisciplinary research team.

LEDRUS delivers a portfolio of studies across the Emergency Medicine speciality, including NIHR portfolio trials. Current research activity spans observational, interventional and CTIMP studies.  

You will contribute to all aspects of the planning, conduct and reporting of all clinical trials within the LEDRUS research speciality. Acute or research experience is essential. 

Day-to-day responsibilities will include the management of recruitment to research studies, working with minimal supervision as part of a research team and ensuring all clinical research activity is ICH GCP compliant and conducted in accordance with agreed protocols. 

The Research Nurse must be a strong advocate for research and patients, able to both recruit and provide effective support to research participants and the wider research team.

Knowledge of clinical research processes, including regulatory frameworks, feasibility assessments and site set-up, and will liaise confidently with sponsor organisations and multi-disciplinary teams.

Good project management skills- to ensure that all clinical research activity is ICH GCP compliant and conducted in accordance with the agreed protocols. 

To maintain a high standard of patient care in line with Trust and R&D policies and protocols and in accordance with the Research Governance Framework. 

To conduct accurate and timely data collection, uphold robust documentation standards.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as an ability to work independently and flexibly. The successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic and ready to work to recruit patients in line with targets, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
