Summary
Religious Worker – Youth and Community Ministry Support
Location: Grace to Grace International Centre, Redif House, Wantz Road, Dagenham, Essex, RM10 8PS
Tenure: Temporary, Full Time
Hours: 30 hours per week – 6 hours daily, 5 days per week
Benefits: Flexible working hours

Job Summary
Grace to Grace International Centre is seeking dedicated, spiritually grounded and compassionate Religious Workers to support its faith-based, youth and community activities.
This is a non-pastoral role focused on assisting with the religious functions of the church. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of church leadership, supporting youth fellowship, discipleship sessions, prayer meetings, worship activities, evangelism and outreach programmes.
The role also involves practical support for the church’s charitable initiatives, including foodbank preparation and distribution, as part of the church’s wider Christian mission.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the delivery of youth fellowship meetings, discipleship sessions and faith-based group activities.
Support church leadership during worship services, prayer meetings, Bible studies and teaching sessions.
Provide supervised encouragement and support to young people, families and members of the congregation.
Assist with evangelism, outreach programmes and engagement with visitors and community members.
Prepare church facilities, including seating, equipment and materials, before and after services and events.
Support the planning and coordination of church programmes, youth events and community outreach activities.
Assist with foodbank operations, including sorting, packing and distributing food parcels, groceries, clothing and essential items.
Help with the safe loading and unloading of foodbank supplies where appropriate.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and activities as required by church leadership.
Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, equality, confidentiality and church policies at all times.
Carry out other reasonable duties related to religious and community support as directed by church leadership.
Essential Skills and Experience
A genuine Christian faith and commitment to serving within a church environment.
Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural, social and religious backgrounds.
Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow direction and work under the supervision of church leadership.
Experience or willingness to support youth fellowship, Bible study, prayer meetings and outreach activities.
A caring and compassionate approach towards young people, vulnerable individuals and families in need.
Ability to assist with practical tasks, including foodbank preparation and distribution.
Good organisational skills, reliability and punctuality.
Basic administrative and record-keeping abilities.
Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, equality and health and safety responsibilities.
Flexibility to support church services, youth programmes and community activities as required.
