Community Library Assistant

What you'll be doing

As a Community Library Assistant, you’ll play a key role in delivering excellent services and experiences by:

* Providing excellent customer service to library users and visitors. 

* Issuing, returning and managing library materials while supporting stock maintenance. 

* Helping customers access books, resources, computers, and digital services. 

* Supporting and promoting library events, and community activities. 

* Signposting people to local services, support networks and opportunities available within the community hub.

* Maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for everyone. 

* Working collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, schools, community groups and partner organisations. 

* Following safeguarding, health and safety, security and data protection procedures. 

About You 

We are looking for someone who:

* Has excellent communication and customer service skills.

* Enjoys engaging with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

* Organised, reliable and able to work as part of a team. (Essential)

* Feels confident supporting people to use computers and online services. (Essential)

* Shares our commitment to inclusion, dignity, wellbeing and community engagement.

* Willing to learn, develop and contribute to continuous improvement.

Working Pattern

This role requires flexibility and may include mornings and afternoons shifts, depending on the service needs.
