Summary
15 hours per week over 2 days (Thursday and Friday)
6-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension or permanency
Salary: £11,498.98 per year, based on a full-time equivalent salary of £28,358.56 per year pro rata.
About the role
We are looking for a practical, reliable and proactive Maintenance Operative to support the upkeep of Sheffcare premises and grounds. Working as part of the Estates team, you will help ensure our homes and facilities are safe, well maintained and welcoming for residents, colleagues and visitors.
The successful candidate will assist the Estates Manager with planned, reactive and emergency maintenance across Sheffcare sites, while working in line with health and safety requirements, company policies, and Sheffcare’s values and Code of Conduct.
Key responsibilities
• Carry out general maintenance work across Sheffcare premises and grounds.
• Support planned preventative maintenance for buildings, plant, machinery, equipment, furniture and fittings.
• Respond to reactive and emergency maintenance needs in a timely and safe manner.
• Use the Sheffcare Estates software system to assign and record maintenance requests.
• Carry out fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Drive light vans to transport materials safely and complete vehicle checks and log sheets.
• Manage appropriate stock control and report faults or issues to the Estates Manager.
• Respect residents’ privacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times.
