Summary

PA Support Required 6.25 hours per week- Support with Accessing the Community and Social Support - Ripley, DE5 - KB-DCC-001.

We are looking for a kind, patient, and reliable Personal Assistant (PA) to provide support to a non-verbal autistic individual.

The ideal person will have experience working with autistic people, particularly those who are non-verbal, and will be calm, understanding, and able to build a trusting relationship.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Personal Assistant will provide support to a non-verbal autistic young person, helping him to enjoy a safe, active, and fulfilling life.

The role includes accompanying him on outings in the community and providing support within the home.

The role includes accompanying him on outings in the community and providing support within the home. At home, you will supervise and support him, allowing his mum time to attend appointments, go shopping or take a short break.

You will also accompany him and his mum on trips out, providing practical support.

He enjoys using his iPad, the PA will encourage and support him to engage in a variety of activities away from his iPad.

Support will be required with toileting.

He enjoys visiting the tramway museum and going to the sensory swimming pool.

The individual requiring support had broken his femur and has a metal rod fitted: He is able to walk short distances. Therefore the role may include going on short, gentle walks together in the local community.

Specific Requirements

PA who is able to drive and has access to a car is required.

Required Training

Experience supporting individuals with Autism.
