Are you a caring, patient and reliable individual who is passionate about supporting others? We are looking for a compassionate Personal Assistant to provide person-centred support to an elderly lady living with Alzheimer's, helping her remain safe, comfortable and independent in the familiarity of her own home.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference through companionship, encouragement and practical support. You will prepare nutritious meals, encourage food and fluid intake, assist with light household tasks such as laundry and keeping the home tidy, and help ensure essential household supplies are maintained.
You will provide gentle prompts with personal care, including washing, dressing, personal hygiene and medication in line with the agreed care plan. The role also involves monitoring general health and wellbeing, encouraging safe mobility, reducing fall risks, and reporting any changes in physical or mental condition.
Companionship is at the heart of this role. You will enjoy meaningful conversation, encourage memory-stimulating activities and hobbies, support engagement with family, and accompany her on short walks or appointments where appropriate.
You will keep simple records of visits and any concerns, ensure the home is secure before leaving, report safeguarding or health concerns promptly, and always uphold dignity, respect and confidentiality.
If you are kind, empathetic and committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support, we'd love to hear from you and welcome you to a role where your compassion can make a real difference every day.
