This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a passion for healthcare, mental health, learning disabilities, occupational therapy support, therapeuticactivitiesand social inclusion. You will help plan and deliver meaningful activities that support independence, wellbeing,recoveryand daily living skills for the men in our care. The successful candidate will work 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:30amto 4:30pm. About Cygnet Cedars Cygnet Cedars is a 23-bed high dependency complex care service for men with learning disabilities, associated complex needs andbehavioursthat may challenge. The service accepts emergency referrals, with an experienced te am whomanagetransitions quickly,safelyand efficiently to ensureeach individualsmove into the service is as smooth as possible. Cygnet Cedars also includes two step-down single occupancy flats, each with its own lounge, kitchen, en-suitebedroomand front door. These flatsprovide an important opportunity for individualsto develop daily living skills, independence,confidenceand community integration as part of their care pathway. Your Day-to-Day as an Activity Co-ordinator As an Activity Co-ordinatorat Cygnet Cedars, you will support and enhance the care of individuals at the service by working closely with the Occupational Therapist and wider interdisciplinary team. You will help plan, deliver and promote a wide range of therapeutic, recreational, social and wellbeing activities that are meaningful,safeand person-centred. Encouraging individuals to access and take part in a variety of activities,hobbiesand therapeuticprogrammes Supporting people tomaintainexisting interests,hobbiesand social connections Assisting the Occupational Therapist with the planning and implementation of therapyprogrammes Helping to source and prepareappropriate materials,resourcesand equipment for activities Contributing creative ideas for activities,eventsand group sessions Facilitating activities safely and in line with individual care plans, riskassessmentsand therapeutic goals Promoting recovery, independence, socialinclusionand community engagement Supporting individuals to build confidence, develop daily living skills and improve wellbeing Working collaboratively with the wider clinical,careand support team WereLooking for Someone Who Has We are looking for an enthusiastic and academically strong candidate who can bring creativity,structureand compassion to the role. Experience and/or a genuine passion for working in healthcare, mental health, learning disability services or social care Some knowledge or understanding of Occupational Therapy A creative flair and the ability to planengaging, meaningful activities The confidence to work as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team Strong communicationandorganisationskills A positive,patientand flexible approach An interest in supporting people with complex needs andbehavioursthat may challenge An awareness of recovery approaches, socialinclusionand person-centredcare, which is desirable This role may suit someone with experience as an Activity Co-ordinator, Activities Coordinator, Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Mental Health Support Worker, ActivitiesWorkeror Social Care Worker.
