Cygnet Healthcare is looking for a creative,
compassionate
and motivated Activity Co-
ordinator
to join our team at Cygnet Cedars.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a passion for healthcare, mental health, learning disabilities, occupational therapy support,
therapeutic
activities
and social inclusion. You will help plan and deliver meaningful activities that support independence, wellbeing,
recovery
and daily living skills for the men in our care.
The successful candidate will work
42 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:
30am
to 4:
30pm
.
About Cygnet Cedars
Cygnet Cedars is a 23-bed high dependency complex care service for men with learning disabilities, associated complex needs and
behaviours
that may challenge.
The service accepts emergency referrals, with an experienced team who
manage
transitions quickly,
safely
and efficiently to ensure
each individual’s
move into the service is as smooth as possible.
Cygnet Cedars also includes two step-down single occupancy flats, each with its own lounge, kitchen, en-suite
bedroom
and front door. These flats
provide an important opportunity for individuals
to develop daily living skills, independence,
confidence
and community integration as part of their care pathway.
Your Day-to-Day as an Activity Co-
ordinator
As an Activity Co-
ordinator
at Cygnet Cedars, you will support and enhance the care of individuals at the service by working closely with the Occupational Therapist and wider interdisciplinary team.
You will help plan, deliver and promote a wide range of therapeutic, recreational, social and wellbeing activities that are meaningful,
safe
and person-
centred
.
Encouraging individuals to access and take part in a variety of activities,
hobbies
and therapeutic
programmes
Supporting people to
maintain
existing interests,
hobbies
and social connections
Assisting the Occupational Therapist with the planning and implementation of therapy
programmes
Helping to source and prepare
appropriate materials
,
resources
and equipment for activities
Contributing creative ideas for activities,
events
and group sessions
Facilitating activities safely and in line with individual care plans, risk
assessments
and therapeutic goals
Promoting recovery, independence, social
inclusion
and community engagement
Supporting individuals to build confidence, develop daily living skills and improve wellbeing
Working collaboratively with the wider clinical,
care
and support team

Looking for Someone Who Has
We are looking for an enthusiastic and academically strong candidate who can bring creativity,
structure
and compassion to the role.
Experience and/or a genuine passion for working in healthcare, mental health, learning disability services or social care
Some knowledge or understanding of Occupational Therapy
A creative flair and the ability to plan
engaging

The confidence to work as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
Strong communication

skills
A positive,
