Summary

The key responsibilities of the role include: Delivering high-quality medical care to patients registered with the practice. Providing a range of routine GP consultations, managing long-term conditions and undertaking home visits where clinically appropriate. The practice operates a dedicated duty doctor system to support urgent and acute presentations, ensuring patients receive timely care and clinicians are supported within their roles. Prescribing safely and effectively in line with local and national guidance. Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support coordinated patient care. Maintaining accurate, contemporaneous clinical records in line with professional standards, practice policies and guidance. Completing clinical administration in a timely manner, including referrals, correspondence, investigations and repeat prescription requests. Supporting the delivery of services within the GMS contract and other practice priorities. Contributing to clinical governance, audit, significant event reviews and quality improvement activities. Participating in practice meetings and contributing to the ongoing development of services. Supporting the education and supervision of Doctors in Training and medical students, where appropriate. Maintaining professional registration, appraisal and revalidation requirements. Engaging in continuing professional development and supporting a culture of learning within the practice. Working in accordance with practice policies, protocols and GMC guidance. Promoting effective communication and collaborative working across the whole practice team. Additional Responsibilities The successful candidate may also be encouraged to: Develop areas of clinical interest and contribute to wider practice or Primary Care Network initiatives. Participate in research, service improvement projects and local initiatives to enhance patient care. Support the review of significant events and learning from incidents to improve practice processes.
