Summary
Second Steps Day Nursery Colchester (CO3 4RG) are looking for a dedicated Nursery Room Manager to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. As a Room Manager, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. You will be responsible for managing daily activities, fostering positive relationships with children, and ensuring their developmental needs are met.
This position is for 40 hours per week working Monday to Friday.
Duties:
• Develop and implement engaging educational programmes tailored to the needs of children aged 0-5 years.
• Safely open and close the nursery building (on a shift pattern).
• Foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Manage daily activities and routines while ensuring the well-being of all children in your care.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues to build strong relationships and promote a collaborative atmosphere.
• Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and adapting learning strategies as necessary.
• Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in childcare and early years education.
• Collaborate with other educators to create a cohesive learning experience across the nursery.
Experience:
• A qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner.
• Proven experience within Early Years, with the confidence to step into a Nursery Room Manager role.
• The ability to support ongoing development using our on-site training facilities.
