The Opportunity:

We are supporting a leading global communications and technology organisation in the search for a Datacomms Technician to join their technical operations team based in Redhill.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in telecommunications, networking, structured cabling, or technical support who is looking to build a career within satellite communications, maritime technology, and global connectivity solutions.

The role combines hands-on technical work, fault diagnosis, network support, and occasional field-based deployments supporting customers across a variety of sectors including maritime, offshore, government, and enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Install, configure and support satellite communications and data networking equipment

- Assist with commissioning, maintenance and repair of VSAT, TVRO and maritime communications systems

- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues across IP-based environments

- Support routers, switches, satellite modems and associated network infrastructure

- Carry out cable installation, termination, testing and fault-finding activities

- Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders

- Escalate complex faults where appropriate whilst maintaining ownership of incidents

- Support remote troubleshooting activities and onsite technical deployments

- Maintain accurate technical documentation and service records

- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures
