As a Campus Vice Principal in our Justice and Immigration College team, you’ll provide strategic and operational leadership for all Education, Skills and Work provision across HMP Dovegate. You’ll help shape opportunities that enable learners to develop skills, gain qualifications and progress towards sustainable employment upon release.

This is a senior leadership role with real purpose. Working closely with prison and college leadership teams, you’ll champion education as a key driver of rehabilitation, creating positive impact on communities by supporting learner progression, reducing reoffending and helping individuals build better futures. Your leadership will create an ambitious culture where innovation, trust, care and pride are at the heart of everything we do.

What you’ll do as a Campus Vice Principal

You’ll be entrusted to:

- Lead all Education, Skills and Work provision across the campus, ensuring delivery meets contractual requirements, learner needs and organisational objectives

- Act as the Head of Education, Skills and Work, providing strategic educational leadership and expert advice to senior prison stakeholders

- Drive high standards of curriculum design, teaching, learning and assessment to improve learner achievement, progression and employability outcomes

- Lead quality improvement activity, ensuring inspection readiness and compliance with regulatory and contractual standards

- Oversee operational performance, resources, budgets and workforce planning to deliver effective and efficient educational services

- Develop strong partnerships with employers, external organisations and internal stakeholders to create impactful solutions and meaningful progression pathways for learners

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have…

- Significant experience leading education, skills and work provision within further education, prison education or another regulated learning environment

- A successful track record of leading large multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-quality educational outcomes within complex operational settings

- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, quality improvement, inspection frameworks and performance management

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior leadership level and build trusted relationships

- A degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience, alongside a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training

Vetting and checks:

A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
