Ready to impact a better future?

As a Group Facilitator in our Therapeutic Community team at HMP Dovegate, you'll help deliver specialist therapeutic interventions that support rehabilitation, personal growth and lasting behavioural change. Through group-based therapeutic practice, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, constructive environment where individuals can develop healthier ways of thinking and living.

Our work touches lives every day. In this role, you'll contribute to a therapeutic community that helps individuals address complex needs, improve wellbeing and reduce the risk of reoffending. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll help create impactful solutions that deliver positive outcomes for residents, support safer communities and help impact a better future.

What you'll do as a Group Facilitator

- Facilitate therapeutic group sessions, community meetings, reviews and assessments within the Therapeutic Community.

- Support the assessment, treatment and development of residents with complex psychological and behavioural needs.

- Prepare professional reports, including parole review documentation, and provide evidence where required.

- Contribute to service development, quality assurance activities and the continuous improvement of therapeutic practice.

- Work collaboratively with clinical and operational colleagues to maintain a safe, effective and accredited therapeutic environment.

- Promote wellbeing, rehabilitation and positive behavioural change through evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

 

Does this sound like you?

- You have experience delivering group-based interventions, therapy or therapeutic support within a forensic, custodial, clinical or related environment.

- You hold, are working towards, or have equivalent experience relevant to psychotherapy, counselling, group analysis or therapeutic practice.

- You can build trust, communicate effectively and work confidently within a multidisciplinary team.

- You have experience assessing risk, maintaining professional records and producing high-quality written reports.

- You're committed to making a positive impact and supporting people to achieve meaningful personal growth and change.

Vetting and checks:

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements.
