Summary

1. Share with consultant colleagues the Community Paediatric workload. 2. Provide with the other consultants a mutual out of hours cover for annual, study and professional leave. 3. Out of hours/Weekend responsibilities are 1 in 11 week night and weekend on call 4. Hot week responsibilities are 1 in 11 alternating Paediatric and Neonatal hot weeks 5. Provision with Consultant colleagues of the James Paget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness and the proper functioning of the department; 6. To conduct Neurodevelopmental (ND) clinics as part of a ND team. 7. Provide support to ADHD specialists at the Newberry Child Developmental Centre. 8. Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff; 9. Responsibilities for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and for contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education activity, locally and nationally; 10. Participating in medical audit, the Trusts Clinical Governance processes and in CPD; 11. Involvement in research 12. Managerial, including budgetary, responsibilities where appropriate; 13. Where it is agreed between the parties, work on behalf of James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust or services provided by the Trust for other agencies, e.g. the prison service.
