A growing construction and interiors contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead projects from initial design through to handover and 12 month defects. The Project Manager will oversee site operations, design coordination, subcontractor management, programme control and full project compliance. You’ll be the central point of leadership, ensuring projects run safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Programme management - Create and maintain the construction programme and update daily.
• Team leadership - Manage the Site Manager and ensure strong performance throughout the construction phase.
• Design coordination - Oversee the design team, ensuring drawings and information remain current.
• Subcontractor management - Coordinate all trades and ensure smooth workflow across the supply chain.
• Health & Safety - Lead site H&S, ensuring risks are identified, recorded and controlled.
• Project documentation - Produce essential project plans including:
o Construction Phase Plan (CPP)
o Fire action plan
o Fire strategy plan
o Logistics plan
o Traffic management plan
o Hospital location plan
o Project directory
o O&M tracker
o Risk register
o RFI schedule
• Weekly control tasks — Conduct weekly inspections, trade contractor meetings, client meetings and maintain all trackers.
• Compliance coordination — Work with building control, principal designer and design teams to ensure full compliance.
• Quality & snagging — Ensure snagging is completed promptly and to a high standard.
• Reporting — Issue weekly reports to senior management every Friday.
• Project close out — Ensure all O&M documentation, declarations, certificates and KPIs are completed.
• Defects management — Manage defects throughout the 12 month period and schedule the final defects meeting.
Required Certifications
• CSCS
• SSSTS
• First Aid
• Asbestos Awareness
• Fire Warden
• PASMA (preferred but not mandatory)
Skills & Experience
• Strong leadership and coordination skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to manage complex programmes and multiple workstreams
• High attention to detail and strong organisational discipline
• Confidence managing design, site and subcontractor teams
