Housing Support Worker – Nacro (Stoke & Stafford) | Summary
Salary
£26,807 per year plus £1,000 unsociable hours allowance.
Progression to £27,477 within the first year, subject to performance and criteria.
Contract
Full-time (37.5 hours per week).
Fixed-term until 12 July 2027.
Location
Based in Stoke, covering Stoke and Stafford (West Midlands).
Regular travel required.
Essential Requirements
Full UK driving licence.
Access to your own vehicle with business insurance.
Enhanced DBS and HMPPS checks.
No visa sponsorship available.
Working Pattern
Rotating shifts between:
Monday–Friday: 08:00–22:00
Saturday: 09:00–17:00
About the Role
This position supports the Community Accommodation with Support (CAS-2) programme, helping people leaving prison or on bail/home detention curfew to secure accommodation, build independence, and reduce reoffending.
Key Responsibilities
Assess support needs and create support/safety plans.
Help service users with housing applications, benefits, rent payments, and tenancy management.
Ensure accommodation meets required standards and address maintenance issues.
Work with probation services, courts, housing providers, and other agencies.
Support service users in developing life skills and moving into independent living.
Manage safeguarding concerns, tenancy risks, and anti-social behaviour.
Maintain accurate records and comply with organisational policies.
Ideal Candidate
Experience in housing support, support work, or a related field.
Experience working with vulnerable adults and people with complex needs.
Knowledge of tenancy sustainment, welfare benefits, safeguarding, and professional boundaries.
Strong communication, organisation, record-keeping, and IT skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a multi-agency team.
Resilient, emotionally intelligent, and skilled at problem-solving.
