Summary

V Class 2 Shunter / Driver

Location: Rochdale

Contract Type: Temp to Perm

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 4:30pm

Pay Rate: £14.00–£15.68 per hour

Start Date: Immediate start available for the right candidate

On behalf of our Manufacturing and logistics client based in Rochdale, we are currently recruiting an experienced

HGV Class 2 Shunter / Driver to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and professional HGV Class 2 driver looking for a stable, long-term position. The role will primarily involve

shunting vehicles around the site, with

occasional local deliveries required as part of the position.

An immediate start is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently shunt HGV vehicles around the site and designated yard areas.

• Position vehicles correctly for loading, unloading, and operational requirements.

• Carry out vehicle movements in a safe and controlled manner, following all site safety procedures.

• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues promptly.

• Undertake occasional local deliveries when required.

• Ensure goods are transported safely and securely when carrying out deliveries.

• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records.

• Comply with all relevant road transport legislation, Drivers' Hours regulations, and company policies when undertaking deliveries.

• Work closely with the transport and warehouse teams to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of vehicles and goods.

• Maintain a professional and responsible approach to vehicle safety and site operations at all times.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence.

• Valid Driver CPC qualification.

• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.

• Previous HGV Class 2 driving experience.

• Shunting or yard experience is highly desirable.

• Experience carrying out local or multi-drop deliveries would be advantageous.

• A clean driving licence, or no more than minor endorsements.

• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic.

• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.

• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
