£110-£120 per day

Long Term Futures is seeking a caring and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the West Bridgford area from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children during the crucial early years of their primary education. Working within Key Stage 1, you will play a vital role in helping pupils develop the confidence, skills and foundations they need to succeed both academically and socially.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the class teacher to create an engaging learning environment, provide tailored support to individual pupils and small groups, and help ensure every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
About the Role
As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1, helping to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
- Deliver targeted interventions in phonics, early reading, writing and mathematics
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils requiring additional guidance
- Reinforce learning objectives through practical, creative and interactive activities
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence within the classroom
- Support children with SEND, adapting activities to meet individual learning needs where required
- Assist with classroom preparation, displays and learning resources
- Monitor pupil engagement and progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school
- Experience supporting Key Stage 1 pupils is highly desirable
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous
- Knowledge of early phonics programmes such as Little Wandle or Read Write Inc. is beneficial
- Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable
- Positive, patient and nurturing approach to supporting young learners
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
