Teaching Assistant

West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 (commutable from Edwalton, Gamston, Lady Bay, Wilford, Ruddington)

£110-£120 per day

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

We are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the West Bridgford area from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting children across the primary age range and is committed to helping every pupil reach their full potential. You'll become an integral part of a supportive school community, working alongside experienced teachers to deliver engaging lessons, provide tailored support and create a positive learning environment where children can thrive.

Whether you're supporting pupils individually, leading small group interventions or assisting with whole-class activities, your contribution will have a lasting impact on children's confidence, progress and enjoyment of school.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

- Provide classroom support across the primary phase, adapting to the needs of different year groups where required

- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to support literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum learning

- Encourage pupil engagement, independence and confidence within the classroom

- Support children with a range of learning needs, including those with SEND where appropriate

- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm, inclusive learning environment

- Prepare classroom resources and assist with the organisation of learning activities

- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents to support children's overall development

Ideal Candidate Profile

- Previous experience working within a primary school as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant

- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Positive, patient and adaptable approach to supporting children's learning

- Confident working with small groups and providing individual support

- Experience supporting pupils with SEND is advantageous

- Committed to becoming a valued member of the wider school community
