Summary
Are you an innovative architectural educator who can help shape the future of design through digital practice, computational thinking and emerging technologies?
About the role:
The University of Plymouth is seeking to appoint two Lecturers in Architecture to join a dynamic and ambitious architecture team within the School of Art, Design and Architecture.
We are looking for an outstanding educator with expertise in digital design, computational methods and emerging technologies, and a passion for helping students critically engage with the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of architectural practice.
You will contribute across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes through design studio teaching, curriculum development, assessment and academic support. Working within a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, you will help students explore how computational design, artificial intelligence, digital fabrication, advanced representation and emerging forms of design practice can inform innovative, responsible and critically engaged architectural propositions.
As the School continues to strengthen its Architecture provision and develop new opportunities in Interior Architecture, you will contribute to a forward-looking educational environment committed to creative experimentation, technological innovation and design excellence. Additionally, you will:
- Deliver high-quality design studio teaching, tutorials and assessment across Architecture programmes.
- Support students in the application of digital tools, computational methods and emerging technologies within architectural design.
- Contribute to curriculum development, module leadership and enhancement activities.
- Encourage innovative approaches to architectural representation, design communication and design research.
- Engage in scholarly, professional or knowledge-exchange activity that strengthens teaching and maintains contemporary relevance.
Due to the nature of the role, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate working from home.
