Summary

We are looking for a kind, reliable and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team in a residential care home supporting mainly residents living with dementia.

Contract: 36 hours per week

Shift times: 7:00am – 7:00pm

Weekend working: Every other weekend, according to the rota.

Pay: £12.71 per hour

About the role:

As a Care Assistant, you will support residents with their day-to-day needs while promoting their dignity, independence, comfort and wellbeing.

The role includes:

• Supporting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence care.

• Assisting residents with meals, drinks and hydration.

• Supporting residents with mobility and transfers.

• Providing emotional support, reassurance and companionship.

• Supporting residents living with dementia in a calm, patient and respectful manner

• Encouraging residents to remain as independent as possible.

• Following individual care plans and risk assessments.

• Observing residents’ wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns.

• Completing accurate and timely care records using PCS (Person Centred Software).

• Supporting residents with activities and daily routines.

• Working closely with senior carers, nurses, families and other members of the care team.

• Maintaining residents’ privacy, dignity, choices and confidentiality at all times.

• Comfortable providing personal care.

• Able to communicate clearly with residents, relatives and colleagues.

• Willing to work flexibly around residents’ individual routines, preferences and needs.

• Able to work 12-hour shifts and every other weekend.

• Committed to delivering person-centred care.

• Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

The successful applicant will be required to complete the relevant pre-employment checks, including references, an enhanced DBS check and proof of the right to work in the UK.
