Summary

We are looking for reliable, hardworking and caring individuals to join our Domestic Department within our Residential Care Home.

We currently have two roles available:

Domestic Assistant — 35 hours per week

Shift times: 8:00am–6:00pm

Shift pattern: Three days one week and four days the following week, on a rotating basis.

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Duties will include:

• Cleaning residents’ bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control

• Following cleaning schedules and completing required records

• Using cleaning products and equipment safely

• Respecting residents’ privacy, dignity and personal belongings

• Reporting any maintenance, safety or infection-control concerns

• Supporting the wider Domestic Department when required

Laundry Assistant — 20 hours per week

Shift times: 10:00am–3:00pm

Hours: 20 hours per week

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Duties will include:

• Washing, drying, ironing and folding residents’ clothing and household laundry

• Ensuring clothing is labelled and returned to the correct resident

• Handling residents’ clothing and personal belongings with care

• Keeping the laundry room clean, organised and safe

• Following infection-control and laundry-handling procedures

• Reporting damaged clothing or equipment faults

• Supporting the wider Domestic Department when required

About you.

We are looking for applicants who are:

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.

• Kind, patient and respectful towards residents.

• Comfortable working with people living with dementia.

• Understanding of how dementia may affect residents’ communication, behaviour and daily routines.

• Able to complete domestic duties around residents’ day-to-day lives, preferences and individual needs.

• Willing to adapt their work to minimise disruption and maintain a calm, comfortable environment.

• Respectful of residents’ privacy, dignity, choices and personal space.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Able to maintain high standards of cleanliness.

• Willing to follow health and safety, COSHH and infection-control procedures.

• Applicants must understand that this is the residents’ home. All cleaning and laundry duties must be carried out respectfully and flexibly around residents’ daily routines, activities, meals, rest periods and individual care needs.

Previous experience in domestic or laundry role is essential.

Successful applicants will be required to provide references, proof of their right to work in the UK and complete a DBS check.
