Summary
SEN Teaching Assistant – Sheffield
Are you passionate about making a real difference to the lives of children with additional needs? TeacherActive is working with a range of welcoming mainstream and specialist SEND schools across Sheffield and is looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team from September.
Whether you have experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs or other additional learning needs, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND.
- Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication and interaction needs, and learning difficulties.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and help pupils access the curriculum.
- Build positive relationships and encourage confidence, independence and engagement.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to support pupil progress.
- Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
- A patient, caring and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
- A genuine passion for helping every child achieve their full potential.
- Team Teach or Trauma-Informed Practice training is desirable but not essential.
