Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated and dynamicRegistered Nurse, or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our Radiology team asInterventional Radiology Clinical Lead.

This is a key leadership role within a busy interventional radiology service. The successful candidate will providevisible clinical leadership, supporting the day-to-day operational management of the service while maintaining a strong focus on patient experience, quality improvement, staff development and wellbeing.

The primary focus of the role will be leading theInterventional Radiology nursing team, ensuring the provision of safe, effective and compassionate care for patients undergoing a wide range of interventional procedures. The post holder will work clinically within the interventional radiology environment, undertaking responsibilities including acting as a scrub practitioner, monitoring patients throughout procedures, and safely administering sedation and other medications as required.

This is a fast-paced, highly specialised and hands-on role requiring excellent clinical skills, sound judgement and the ability to effectively manage complex situations. The successful candidate will be experienced in interventional radiology practice or a similar interventional speciality and demonstrate strong technical, organisational and leadership capabilities.

In addition to maintaining high standards of clinical practice, the Radiology Clinical Lead will be responsible for workforce planning and management, ensuring safe staffing levels, risk assessment and mitigation, staff training and development, competency management, rostering and supporting service improvements. The post holder will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of a responsive, patient-centred service.

In addition to weekday working, participation in theInterventional Radiology on-call rotais required, providing evening, overnight and weekend cover as part of the role.
