A friendly and inclusive primary school in Exeter is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers, support staff, and external professionals to provide tailored support that enables pupils to access learning with confidence.

- Providing individualised support to pupils with a range of special educational needs

- Delivering one-to-one and small-group interventions to support learning and development

- Encouraging communication, emotional regulation, and positive social interaction

- Supporting the implementation of individual learning plans and behaviour strategies

- Monitoring pupil progress and providing regular feedback to the class teacher

- Promoting inclusion and active participation in classroom activities

- Assisting with personal care where required, always maintaining pupils' dignity and independence

- Helping to create a safe, calm, and engaging learning environment

- Encouraging independence, confidence, and a positive attitude towards learning

Holds a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a related qualification

- Has experience supporting children with SEND within a school or similar setting

- Has a good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and effective behaviour management strategies

- Is patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping children succeed

- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team

- Is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment

- Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one

- Competitive daily pay of £90-£100, dependent on experience
