SEN Tutor Opportunities Across Bath & Bristol

We are committed to ensuring every young person has access to an education that reflects their individual needs, strengths, and potential.

We are currently seeking dedicated SEN Tutors to support children and young people across Bath and Bristol who require additional educational support outside of mainstream settings.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work closely with learners who may have a range of additional needs, including:

- Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

- Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)

- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

- ADHD

- Anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance

- Behavioural needs

- Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

Many of the young people we support are unable to access traditional classroom environments and benefit from personalised, relationship-led learning approaches that help them re-engage with education.

As an SEN Tutor, you will deliver tailored 1:1 or small group sessions designed around each learner's academic, emotional, and social needs.

Sessions may take place in a variety of settings, including:

- Schools

- Community venues

- Family homes

- Alternative provisions

- Online (where appropriate)

You will play a key role in helping learners rebuild confidence, increase engagement, and achieve meaningful educational progress.

- Delivering personalised 1:1 tuition sessions

- Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs

- Adapting learning materials to suit individual needs and learning styles

- Building positive, trusting relationships with learners

- Supporting emotional regulation and engagement with learning

- Tracking and recording student progress

- Collaborating with families, schools, and external professionals

- Using creative and flexible teaching strategies

We are looking for compassionate, adaptable, and committed professionals who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people.

Essential Requirements:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification

- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills

- A patient, child-centred, and supportive approach

- Ability to engage learners who may be difficult to reach

- Experience adapting learning to individual needs

Desirable Experience:

- SEND or SEMH settings

- Alternative Provision or PRUs

- Trauma-informed practice

- Autism or behaviour support

- Intervention tutoring or outreach mentoring

- Emotional literacy or wellbeing support

- Competitive hourly rate of £30-£36

- Flexible working options across Bath & Bristol

- Access to specialist training and CPD

- Opportunities for long-term and permanent roles

- Meaningful, impactful work with vulnerable learners

- The chance to make a genuine difference every day

We are dedicated to supporting children and young people who face barriers to education by providing high-quality, specialist support tailored to individual needs.

Our tutors are valued not only for their professional expertise, but also for their ability to build trust, foster meaningful relationships, and positively impact the lives of the young people they support.

This role is subject to satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS check, and full compliance with safeguarding requirements in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance.

If you are passionate about supporting young people with SEND and SEMH needs, we would be delighted to hear from you.
