Summary

Part-Time (3 Days Per Week) | September 2026 Start | Temp to Permanent | Wiltshire

Some children measure success in tiny steps. In this role, you'll be there to celebrate every single one.

Glow Educate is recruiting on behalf of a specialist school in Wiltshire seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a Year 1 class for children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

This is an opportunity to become part of a school where every aspect of the environment has been carefully designed to help children feel safe, engaged and ready to learn. Following a recent redevelopment, the school offers outstanding sensory facilities, purpose-built classrooms and excellent outdoor learning areas that encourage curiosity, communication and independence.

No two days are ever the same, and every achievement is genuinely celebrated.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting children throughout the school day in both classroom and sensory-based activities

- Delivering individual and small-group support tailored to each child's learning and communication needs

- Assisting pupils to access personalised learning programmes

- Encouraging interaction, confidence and emotional wellbeing

- Supporting sensory play, outdoor exploration and practical learning experiences

- Providing personal care where required, including toileting and changing

- Working alongside teachers, therapists and support staff to ensure pupils receive consistent, high-quality support

- Helping create an inclusive, calm and positive learning environment

We're looking for someone who:

- Enjoys helping children achieve their full potential

- Has experience in education, childcare, care work, residential support or another people-focused role

- Is patient, resilient and naturally nurturing

- Is willing to provide personal care as part of the role

- Communicates well and enjoys working collaboratively

- Has an interest in SEND and would like to build a career within specialist education

Why join this school?

You'll be joining a dedicated and experienced team that genuinely values every member of staff. The school offers excellent facilities, ongoing support and the chance to make a meaningful difference to children with complex learning needs every day.

This part-time position is available from September 2026, working three days per week, with the potential to become a permanent member of staff following a successful temporary period.

If you're looking for a rewarding role where compassion, patience and positivity make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
