Year 1 Teaching Assistant - PMLD

3 Days per Week | September Start | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

Glow Educate is working with a specialist SEND school in Wiltshire looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a Year 1 PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) class this September.

The school has recently had a beautiful rebuild which means they have a thoughtfully designed environment created to meet the needs of its youngest learners. With sensory-rich classrooms, a secure outdoor learning space and specialist resources, it's a setting where children are encouraged to explore, communicate and learn in a way that works for them.

Every child follows an individualised learning journey, with a strong focus on communication, sensory exploration, wellbeing and celebrating every milestone, no matter how small.

- Supporting pupils in a Year 1 PMLD class

- Providing classroom, small group and 1:1 support throughout the school day

- Supporting communication, sensory learning and personalised learning programmes

- Making the most of the school's fantastic outdoor learning and sensory spaces to encourage exploration and engagement

- Assisting with personal care, including toileting and changing

- Encouraging confidence, communication and positive interactions

- Working closely with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide consistent, high-quality support

- Helping to create a calm, safe and nurturing environment where every child can flourish

- Have experience working with children or young people in education, SEND, care, nursery or support settings

- Are comfortable providing personal care, or are willing to learn

- Are calm, patient and compassionate

- Enjoy sensory-based learning, outdoor activities and celebrating every step of a child's progress

- Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

- Want to develop your career within specialist education

This is a part-time role (3 days per week) starting in September, with the opportunity to move from temporary to permanent for the right person.
