Summary

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will lead multiple outpatient clinics and operating sessions each week, delivering specialist care across the full range of oculoplastic, orbital and thyroid eye disease services. A key aspect of the role will be active participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, including skin cancer, neuro-orbital, head and neck, and skull base MDTs, supporting the assessment and management of patients referred to the orbital and oculoplastic services. The post holder will work closely with colleagues across the Trust and may be asked to provide specialist advice to other clinical teams to support decision making in complex cases involving cancer, inflammatory disease and congenital malformations. Teaching, supervision and mentorship of fellows, specialty trainees and junior doctors are an integral part of the role and are a mandatory requirement of the post. The role offers the opportunity to be involved in the management of a wide range of urgent and complex oculoplastic and orbital conditions, with additional theatre sessions arranged when required to support emergency care. The successful candidate will work closely with specialist colleagues across the Trust, including Neurosurgery, ENT and Maxillofacial Surgery teams, and with external Mohs surgery services on occasion, providing multidisciplinary care for patients with complex reconstructive, oncological and orbital conditions.
