Summary

This role helps people with urgent health needs by assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions, making a real difference to timely patient care.

You’ll work as part of a skilled urgent care team, supporting patients with both minor illness and more complex needs. You will practise with a high level of autonomy while collaborating closely with colleagues across health and care services. Your work will help ensure safe, effective care and smooth patient journeys.

What you’ll do:

• Carry out telephone triage and face-to-face assessments for undiagnosed conditions

• Diagnose, treat and manage patients, including referral or discharge

• Prioritise and respond to urgent and emergency presentations

• Work with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate safe care pathways

• Support and supervise junior staff and students

What we’re looking for:

• Current professional registration with NMC or HCPC

• Degree in nursing, paramedic science or equivalent experience

• Advanced assessment skills and evidence-based clinical decision making

• Experience in urgent or unplanned care settings

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills
