Wiltshire Council is proud to be one of only seven Local Authorities selected by the Department for Education to become a Kinship Zone, helping to shape and deliver innovative approaches that improve outcomes for children living within their family and friends network.
We are seeking a number of passionate, knowledgeable and motivated Kinship Support Workers to join our developing Kinship Service. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of kinship care, family support, fostering, social care or related services to play a vital role in helping children remain safely within their family and friends network. As part of our Kinship Zone programme, you will work closely with children, kinship carers, birth families and a wide range of partners across Children's Services and external agencies to strengthen support for kinship families and contribute to the development of best practice locally and nationally.
You will provide practical, emotional and information-based support to parents, kinship carers and their families, helping them navigate services, access support and build resilience. You will work collaboratively with social workers, kinship & fostering teams, education, health professionals and voluntary sector partners to ensure families receive the right support at the right time.
The role will also contribute to the development and delivery of Kinship Zone initiatives, helping Wiltshire Council to test new approaches, gather feedback from families and influence future service development.
Why us?

Our hybrid working model means office staff are on site for at least half their hours, community-based staff carry out at least half their admin time in a workplace, and customer‑facing roles work entirely from their service location.
We are committed to creating a workplace where positive relationships thrive and everyone feels engaged, supported and able to do their best. We do not tolerate discrimination, bullying or harassment. Everyone is expected to promote a culture of inclusion, dignity, trust and respect, guided by our vision and Our Identity.
