This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of essential administrative services that support the delivery of high-quality care for children and young people. As part of the team, you will play a key role in ensuring theatre sessions are scheduled efficiently, helping to provide a positive experience for patients and their families. Based primarily at Leeds General Infirmary in Leeds, the hospital delivers highly specialised care alongside general paediatric services. It serves not only the local population but also acts as a regional and national referral centre for complex conditions. Leeds Children’s Hospital offers over 30 different specialties, including: Paediatric emergency care, Neonatal and paediatric intensive care, Children’s surgery, Oncology and haematology, Cardiology and cardiac, Neurology and neurosurgery. What you will bring to the role The successful candidates will provide essential administrative support within the Children’s Scheduling Team, helping to ensure that theatre llists run smoothly and efficiently. On a day-to-day basis, you will: 1. Book, amend, and cancel patient operations using NHS systems, ensuring accuracy at all times 2. Manage incoming calls and emails, responding to queries from parents, carers, and healthcare professionals in a professional and compassionate manner 3. Maintain and update patient records in line with data protection and confidentiality standards 4. Liaise with clinicians and other departments to resolve scheduling issues and ensure effective communication 5. Monitor theatre list availability and escalate any capacity or demand concerns 6. Carry out general administrative tasks such as data entry, and processing correspondence. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of timely care by ensuring children and families receive the correct documentation at the right time, contributing to a positive patient experience.
