Duties:

  • Deliver high-quality Plumbing teaching and learning programmes to a diverse range of learners.

  • Plan, prepare and assess learning activities, ensuring students receive timely and constructive feedback.

  • Act as a Personal Tutor, providing guidance, support and pastoral care to learners.

  • Monitor student progress, attendance and achievement, maintaining accurate records.

  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities.

  • Support learners in achieving their qualifications and progressing into employment or further study.

  • Develop strong links with employers and contribute to work placement opportunities.

  • Participate in open evenings, recruitment events and wider college activities.

Skills/Experience:

  • Industry experience within Plumbing and a strong understanding of current industry practices.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners of all ages and backgrounds.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

  • Confident using IT systems and digital tools to support teaching and learning.

  • Previous teaching experience or experience supporting apprentices in the workplace is desirable

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 3 NVQ qualification in Plumbing or a relevant trade discipline.

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards a Level 5 Teaching Qualification within the required timeframe.

  • Relevant industry and professional qualifications are desirable.

  • Assessor and/or Internal Verifier qualifications are desirable.
