Quantity Surveyor - Passive Fire Protection
Location: Manchester
Salary: Assistant- up to £30K OR QS- up to £60K
Reporting to: Commercial Manager
About the Company
Our client is a FIRAS-approved Passive Fire Protection specialist delivering high-quality fire safety solutions across the UK. Working with Tier 1 contractors and public sector clients, they provide a comprehensive range of passive fire protection services, ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant and fully aligned with current legislation.
Their expertise includes:
• Full compartmentation surveys
• Fire stopping installations
• Fire curtain installations
• Cavity barrier installations
• Fire door surveys
• Fire door replacements
• Fire door remediation and upgrade works
With a growing pipeline of secured projects, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team by appointing a Quantity Surveyor.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, you'll play a key role in the commercial delivery of passive fire protection projects across a varied portfolio including schools, care homes and residential housing.
This opportunity is open to Quantity Surveyors at varying levels of experience, with salary reflecting your background and capability. Responsibilities
• Manage the commercial aspects of multiple passive fire protection projects.
• Prepare valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and commercial performance.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final account.
• Identify, price and agree variations.
• Support contract administration and ensure commercial compliance.
• Work closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability.
• Produce accurate cost reporting and forecasts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
What We're Looking For
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Experience working within Passive Fire Protection or Fire Stopping is essential.
• Strong understanding of commercial processes within the construction industry.
• Experience managing projects from inception through to final account.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Organised, commercially aware and able to manage multiple projects.
• Full UK driving licence.
