SEN Support Assistant
Location: Newton Heath, Manchester
Contract: Temporary (Long-term)
Full Time: Monday to Friday
Pay: £105 - £115 per day

A specialist SEN school in Newton Heath is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Assistant to join their supportive team from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity until the end of the academic year, supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs within a specialist education setting.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs, working closely with class teachers and the wider SEN team to provide personalised academic, social, emotional, and pastoral support. The school provides a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and achieve their individual potential.
Key responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN needs

Supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex needs, communication difficulties, and learning disabilities

Assisting pupils to access learning activities and engage positively within the classroom

Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development

Assisting with the implementation of EHCPs, individual support plans, and behaviour strategies

Using communication approaches such as Makaton, PECS, AAC, or other specialist strategies where required
