Summary
Allstaff Warehouse Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Assistant Warehouse Manager for company based near Inchinnan, Renfrewshire. This is a full time permanent role. The hours are Monday to Thursday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm; Friday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm (45-minute break)
Role Overview
As Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will support the Warehouse Manager in delivering the safe, efficient and effective day-to-day operation of a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will oversee daily warehouse activities, supervise and develop the warehouse team, and ensure operational targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of health and safety, quality, stock accuracy and customer service.
You will deputise for the Warehouse Manager when required, providing leadership and ensuring continuity of operations while driving a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Support the day-to-day management of warehouse operations, ensuring goods are received, stored and dispatched efficiently.
Supervise warehouse activities including goods-in, picking, packing, stock control and customer returns while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures, warehouse standards and company policies.
Maintain accurate inventory through regular cycle counts and effective use of the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Monitor operational performance against KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Liaise with internal departments to ensure production and customer requirements are met.
Prepare operational reports and deliver team briefings as required.
Support audits, warehouse documentation and reporting.
Deputise for the Warehouse Manager during periods of absence.
Self-Management
Maintain a strong understanding of warehouse operations, products and customer requirements.
Demonstrate a proactive, organised and flexible approach to work.
Support continuous improvement and best practice initiatives.
Build positive working relationships across the business.
Lead by example, maintaining high standards of professionalism, accountability and customer service.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
People Management
Support, supervise and motivate the warehouse team to achieve operational targets.
Allocate workloads effectively and assist with training and development.
Coach employees to improve performance and encourage engagement.
Support attendance management, inductions and ongoing employee development.
Promote a positive team culture focused on accountability, collaboration and high performance.
