Summary
We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and reliable Personal Assistant to support our 7-year-old son, to access and enjoy activities in the community, develop confidence and independence, and have positive social experiences. Individual is autistic (PDA profile), has ADHD, Hypermobility, Tourette syndrome, asthma, and severe dust and pollen allergies. The role involves providing tailored support that meets individuals sensory, emotional, physical, and personal care needs, including assistance with toileting, medication administration, and community access. The successful candidate will build a trusting relationship with him, use a flexible and low-demand approach, and support him to engage in activities he enjoys, such as gaming, outdoor exploration, and imaginative play, while promoting his wellbeing, dignity, and independence at all times.
•Support individual to access social, leisure, and community activities.
•Build a trusting and positive relationship through play and shared interests.
•Encourage confidence, independence, and self-esteem.
•Support participation in activities while ensuring his safety and wellbeing.
•Use a flexible and understanding approach that respects individuals PDA profile.
•Recognise and respond appropriately to sensory, emotional, and communication needs.
•Support individual with developing social skills and positive community experiences.
•Be aware of his medical conditions and follow agreed plans relating to asthma, allergies, and other health needs.
•Adapt activities according to individual energy levels and physical abilities.
•Maintain communication with parents regarding activities and any concerns.
•Support individual with personal care needs when required, in a respectful, age-appropriate, and dignified manner.
•Assist individual with toileting while out in the community, including supporting the use of a portable urinal when required, as public toilet environments can be overwhelming and inaccessible to him.
•Provide support with changing clothing following toileting accidents when necessary.
•Support individual with bathroom routines, including prompting and assisting with wiping, handwashing, and other hygiene tasks when he is unable to manage these independently.
•Recognise when toileting-related demands are becoming overwhelming for individual and adapt support using a patient, low-demand, and understanding approach.
•Promote individuals dignity, privacy, wellbeing, and independence throughout all aspects of personal care.
•Administer prescribed medication in accordance with parental guidance, written instructions, and agreed procedures, ensuring medication is given safely, accurately, and at the appropriate time.
•Be aware of and follow agreed guidance regarding asthma, allergies, hypermobility, and other health needs.
Both PAs need to be with the children at the same times. There are two roles and both have same hours to provide respite to family.
We are looking for a caring, patient, and enthusiastic individual who can build a positive and trusting relationship with the individual. The ideal candidate will be calm, flexible, and able to support individual in a way that respects his individual needs and communication style.
As individual has a PDA profile, it is important that the successful applicant is able to take a low-demand, collaborative approach and adapt their support according to his emotional, sensory, and physical needs. They should be able to recognise when situations are becoming overwhelming and respond in a reassuring and supportive manner.

•Be comfortable administering medication following agreed guidance.
•Be able to support community access, including assisting with Isaac's specialist pram when required. •Enjoy spending time outdoors and supporting activities based around Isaac's interests, including Minecraft, Wobbly Life, gaming, and exploration.
•Be reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently.
•Be committed to promoting Isaac's wellbeing, inclusion, confidence, and independence.
