Duties:

Deliver teaching across Electrical Installation, including theory, practical skills, inspection & testing, fault diagnosis and design.

Plan, prepare and assess learning, including marking, feedback, tutorials and pastoral support.

Act as Course Leader for designated programmes, overseeing delivery, assessment schedules, quality processes and student progress.

Support learner progression towards full occupational competence and successful End Point Assessment.

Maintain accurate records including attendance, performance, destinations and awarding‑body requirements.

Organise work placements and liaise with employers, parents/carers and external bodies.

Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, self‑assessment and continuous improvement.

Participate in college events such as open evenings, careers events and school liaison.

Maintain professional competence through CPD, appraisal, and participation in teaching observations.

Skills/Experience:

Strong teaching and delivery skills across Electrical Installation at Levels 1-3.

Experience delivering practical and theory sessions including inspection & testing and fault‑finding.

Ability to design schemes of work, assessment plans and course documentation.

Experience supporting learners through tutorials, pastoral care, and progress reviews.

Familiarity with awarding‑body requirements, assessment standards and quality processes.

Competence in managing course administration including enrolment, registers, data returns and reporting.

Ability to work collaboratively within a teaching team and with cross‑college services.

Experience engaging with employers and supporting work placements.

Qualifications:

Essential:

Minimum GCSE Grade 4 / C or Equivalent Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English

Minimum level 3 NVQ qualification in the relevant area of expertise (Electrical Installation)

Desirable:

Electrical ECS Gold Card / AM2 Certificate

Level 5 Teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe)

Assessor and Moderator/IQA Award

Latest amendment of 18th addition

Relevant degree and/or appropriate level professional qualifications
