Duties:
- Deliver teaching across Electrical Installation, including theory, practical skills, inspection & testing, fault diagnosis and design.
- Plan, prepare and assess learning, including marking, feedback, tutorials and pastoral support.
- Act as Course Leader for designated programmes, overseeing delivery, assessment schedules, quality processes and student progress.
- Support learner progression towards full occupational competence and successful End Point Assessment.
- Maintain accurate records including attendance, performance, destinations and awarding‑body requirements.
- Organise work placements and liaise with employers, parents/carers and external bodies.
- Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, self‑assessment and continuous improvement.
- Participate in college events such as open evenings, careers events and school liaison.
- Maintain professional competence through CPD, appraisal, and participation in teaching observations.
Skills/Experience:
- Strong teaching and delivery skills across Electrical Installation at Levels 1-3.
- Experience delivering practical and theory sessions including inspection & testing and fault‑finding.
- Ability to design schemes of work, assessment plans and course documentation.
- Experience supporting learners through tutorials, pastoral care, and progress reviews.
- Familiarity with awarding‑body requirements, assessment standards and quality processes.
- Competence in managing course administration including enrolment, registers, data returns and reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a teaching team and with cross‑college services.
- Experience engaging with employers and supporting work placements.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Minimum GCSE Grade 4 / C or Equivalent Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English
- Minimum level 3 NVQ qualification in the relevant area of expertise (Electrical Installation)
Desirable:
- Electrical ECS Gold Card / AM2 Certificate
- Level 5 Teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe)
- Assessor and Moderator/IQA Award
- Latest amendment of 18th addition
- Relevant degree and/or appropriate level professional qualifications
