Full time: Pay: £105 - £115. Start date: 3rd September, 2026. Expected End date: July, 2027.

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Stockport is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school is committed to creating a positive learning environment where every child is supported to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across Key Stage 2, providing both whole-class assistance and targeted interventions. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys helping young learners develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities

- Providing classroom support to pupils across Key Stage 2

- Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions to support learning and progress

- Supporting pupils with varying learning needs, including those with additional educational needs where required

- Assisting with phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy activities

- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil engagement

- Preparing classroom resources and helping to maintain an organised learning environment

- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to support pupil development

The Successful Applicant Will

- Have previous experience working within a primary school setting

- Have a good understanding of the curriculum, including phonics and early literacy

- Be patient, nurturing, and able to build positive relationships with pupils

- Be proactive, adaptable, and work effectively as part of a team

- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Have the right to work in the UK and be available for the required working pattern

- Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (desirable)

- Hold Team Teach or other behaviour management training (desirable)
